  • Student accounts: name, mobile number, city, and a hashed password when you create a free account.
  • Enquiry forms: name, email, phone, and your message when you contact us.
  • Usage data: quiz answers, scores, typing WPM, and progress within the site so we can show you your history.
  • Cookies: a session cookie for login and a language preference cookie. No third-party tracking cookies are set by us.

3. How we use your information

  • To operate and improve our free learning tools (mock tests, GK quiz, typing tutor, etc.).
  • To send you OTP verification SMS for account creation.
  • To respond to your enquiries and support tickets.
  • To display leaderboard rankings (only your name and city are shown publicly — never your phone number).
  • To show you relevant study content based on your saved preferences.

4. Google Ads & third-party services

We may display ads served by Google AdSense. Google uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out at google.com/settings/ads. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.

5. Data retention

Student account data is retained as long as the account exists. Enquiry data is kept for up to 2 years. You may request deletion at any time by emailing us.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting info@bombayinstitute.edu.in. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed (bcrypt). All data is stored on a secured server. We do not store payment card details — no payment is collected on this site.

8. Children

Our services are intended for students aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
